LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Allison Carter has become the newest member of the Bucknell women's rowing assistant coaching staff, head coach Steve Kish announced. Carter comes to Lewisburg after two seasons as an assistant coach at her alma mater, Ithaca College.

"We are excited to add Allison's experiences and skills to our coaching team," said Kish. "Her experiences as a rower, coxswain and coach at Ithaca College have prepared her well."

At Ithaca, Carter worked with the novice rowers in the fall and the varsity rowers in the spring. Last year she guided the Bombers’ novice eights to fourth and 10th-place finishes at the Head of the Schuylkill. In the spring, she coached the third varsity eight to a win in the petite final at the National Invitational Rowing Championship (NIRC) and the lightweight four to an undefeated season, culminating with a win in the grand final at the NIRC.

Carter is a 2013 Ithaca graduate, majoring in anthropology with minors in Jewish studies and art history. She was a four-year member of the Bombers’ varsity crew team, including the last three as a coxswain. She earned a seat in the first varsity eight as a senior.

After graduation, she got started in coaching as assistant varsity coach and head novice coach with the Cascadilla Boat Club in Ithaca. That included a stint as interim head coach in 2014.
