DELAND, Fla. – Bucknell volleyball closed the Hatter Classic with a 3-1 (18-25, 25-21, 25-22, 25-18) win over host Stetson on Sunday at the Edmunds Center. Sophomore Mimi Richards was named to the All-Tournament Team for the second straight weekend, bolstered by 17 kills and seven total blocks against the Hatters.

The 17 kills by Richards came with a .406 hitting percentage, while her block total included two solo and five assists. For the tournament, she tallied 22 total blocks, including a school-record tying 10 block assists against Providence, and 34 kills over three matches.

Bucknell holds a huge lead in blocks in the Patriot League, averaging 3.21/set. Individually, Richards is first with 1.79 blocks per set, while senior Celeste Barker is fourth with 1.25/set. Barker had three against Stetson and totaled 12 in the tournament.

Stetson jumped out to a 1-0 lead thanks to a 25-18 win in set one, but Bucknell rolled through the next three sets to improve to 4-2 on the season. The Hatters dropped to 0-6. It was the first ever meeting between the teams.

Sophomore Sophie Bullard came through in clutch situations multiple times, finishing with 15 kills and 15 digs. A pair of freshmen had big matches as Delanie Lewis totaled nine kills and nine digs, and Anna Carroll had eight kills and seven digs.

Sophomore Brooke Stark led the defensive effort with a career-high 33 digs. Senior Luz Nagle tallied 35 assists.

Naina Ivanova had a solid match for Stetson with 41 assists and 13 digs. Shelby Connors had a team-high 13 kills.

Providence went on to win the tournament with a perfect 3-0 record. ECU was 2-1, Bucknell went 1-2, and Stetson wrapped up play at 0-3.

Up next for Bucknell is the Canisius Invitational, where the Bison will play Canisius, Eastern Washington, and Charlotte on Friday and Saturday.
