STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- The Bucknell women's golf team closed with a 317 on Sunday in the final round of the Nittany Lion Invitational at the Penn State Blue Course. Lindsay Dodovich led the way for the Bison with a 78, and the team finished up in 13th place in a star-studded field.

After shooting 74-76 on Saturday, Dodovich started on the 13th hole and had another good round going until being derailed by a late quadruple-bogey at the par-4 7th hole. Prior to that, she had seven pars and a birdie over an eight-hole stretch. Dodovich closed her tournament with a birdie to move into a tie for 35th place at 228 total.

Also for Bucknell, Katie Childers finished with a 79, and Meredith Langs and Casey Morrow both shot 80s. Morrow parred 13 of the 18 holes, and Langs had 10 pars and nothing worse than bogey on the day.

Maryland finished with a 288 to come from behind and beat Penn State by three shots for the team title. Delaware, Princeton and Rutgers rounded out the top five. With a 948 total over 54 holes, Bucknell bettered 14th-place Youngstown State (962).

Maryland's Laura Van Respaille was the medalist at 4-under (74-68-70). Penn State's Cara Basso and Madelein Herr finished two shots back.

The tournament marked a homecoming for Bucknell head coach Lisa Francisco, a former women's golf letterwinner for the Nittany Lions.

The Bison are now idle until Oct. 6-8, when they travel to New Haven, Connecticut for the Yale Invitational.
