About the Bison
• Bucknell wraps up a four-game road stretch with a non-league game Wedensday night at Fairleigh Dickinson, then the Bison return home to face Patriot League rival American on Saturday afternoon. Bucknell began the road trip by twice scoring second-half goals to earn 1-1 draws at Robert Morris and Saint Peter's, and then on Saturday the Bison could not find the equalizer in a 1-0 loss at Lafayette in the Patriot League opener.

• Bucknell has played mostly low-scoring games this season. The Bison have scored five goals in seven games but allowed only seven. Five of the seven games have resulted in 1-0 or 1-1 finals, with the exceptions a 2-0 win over Duquesne and a 3-0 loss at Stetson.

• Nick King leads the team with two goals, while Matt ThorsheimBen Derleth and Tyler Peterson have one each. Thorsheim also has two assists, and he and King lead the team with four points.

• Two freshmen -- Thorsheim and left back Stefan Gollisz -- have started all seven games thus far.

• Goalkeeper Ryan Ott has an .829 save percentage and 0.96 goals-against average. He leads the Patriot League in save percentage and saves per game (4.86) while ranking No. 2 in goals-against average.

Brendan Nash is in his 19th season as Bucknell's head coach and his 22nd as a member of the Bison coaching staff. His predecessor, Craig Reynolds, patrolled the sideline for 32 years, meaning Bucknell has had only two men's soccer head coaches over the last 50 years. Nash's 169 wins are second all-time to Reynolds' 238, but Nash's .531 winning percentage is No. 1 in program history. He has guided the Bison to four Patriot League titles in the last 11 years.

• Nash is a New Jersey native, and he will be bringing five Garden Staters back home on Wednesday when the Bison travel to FDU. Bucknell is unbeaten (8-0-2) in its last 10 games in the state of New Jersey, with the last loss coming at Saint Peter's in 2007.

Scouting Fairleigh Dickinson/Series History
• The Knights are off to a strong start at 5-2-1, all in non-league play, although they are 0-2-1 in their last three after a 5-0 start. Two of the team's wins came against Patriot League teams in Army and Lafayette, and FDU has also beaten Manhattan, Yale and Iona. The Knights drew at NJIT, and last week they took back-to-back home losses to Rider and Princeton. FDU was ranked 21st nationally as recently as last week, but they still rank No. 4 in the Northeast Region.

• FDU has outscored foes 14-9 on the season. Fredhino Mompremier, a University of Tampa transfer and a member of Haiti's U-20 National Team, leads the Knights with 10 points on four goals and two assists. Ahu Obhakhan also has four goals, including both tallies in the 2-0 win over Yale. Daniel Lasarte has a team-high four assists along with a goal.

• Three different goalkeepers have started games for the Knights. Tiago Capela has five starts and is 2-1-1 with a 1.15 goals-against average.

• Bucknell is 2-5-2 all-time against Fairleigh Dickinson, including a 1-0 win in Lewisburg last season. The teams played to a 2-2 tie in Teaneck in 2015, and that was the first series meeting since 1999.

• The first meeting between the two teams came in 1975 in the NCAA Tournament. After a scoreless tie, the Knights advanced 7-6 in penalty kicks.

Scouting American/Series History
• The defending Patriot League regular-season champions played a difficult non-conference schedule and will bring a 1-7-1 overall record into Lewisburg on Saturday. The Eagles' lone win was a 1-0 verdict over Oregon State in Spokane, Wash., and they also have a 1-1 tie with Binghamton. American opened Patriot League play with a 2-0 home loss to Boston University on Saturday.

• American has been outscored 21-3 on the season. Tim Neumann, Vinny Barone and Max Holdsworth have the team's goals. Neumann also has a pair of assists.

• The Bison are 6-15-1 against American, with all but one of the previous 22 meetings coming since American joined the Patriot League in 2001. The Eagles have captured the last four matchups, including a pair of overtime victories last season. AU won 3-2 on a Danny Kaiser golden goal in Lewisburg during the 2016 regular season, and then the Eagles prevailed 2-1 in D.C. in the Patriot League Tournament semifinals. Jake Garcia tied the game in the 88th minute and won it in the 103rd, but American would go on to fall to Colgate in penalty kicks in the PL title game.

Up Next
• Next week Bucknell has a mid-week home game against Loyola and a road trip to Holy Cross as Patriot League play continues.
