The senior class has captured eight All-Patriot League, two Academic All-Patriot League and two CoSIDA Academic All-District citations. Its number includes a William V. Campbell Trophy® semifinalist (Mark Pyles) and a STATS Preseason All-American (Abdullah Anderson) as well as two players who have earned a spot on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll each of the past three seasons (Jack Horan and Pyles).

The 19 seniors will be recognized before the Bison’s game against Georgetown. Kickoff is slated for 12 p.m.

LS // Sparta, N.J. // Pope John XXIII

“Tom has worked hard through his four years as a long snapper. He is a student of his craft, which can be a very lonely place at times. He has developed into a starter on our punt and PAT/field goal teams. He has done a good job covering punts for us and developed into a reliable member of our special teams.”

DL // Galloway, N.J. // Absegami

“I feel that Abdullah will graduate as one of the best interior defensive linemen to ever play at our school. He only played one year of high school football and has become one of the best defensive linemen in the Patriot League; that is a tribute to how hard he works. It is impressive when someone works as hard as he has to see the impact he has had in his production and as a leader on our team. I call him ‘Old Man’ and he calls me the same.”

K // Avon, Conn. // Avon

“John is a very good athlete who has done an outstanding job for us as a senior. He has worked through some injury issues that impacted the early part of his career. It is rewarding to see him thrive because of all of his hard work. His approach and skill set have enabled him to become a very good kicker and an important member of our team. He is a very insightful young man who has a unique sense of humor and a quick wit. He also serves as a part-time yoga instructor for our team and teaches tennis in the off-season.”

QB // Boonton Township, N.J. // Seton Hall Prep

“John is a hard worker and has been consistent in his commitment to our program. He has embraced his role as a backup and scout team player. He plays an important role in helping us to play against a left-handed quarterback. He has excelled academically and is planning on graduating after the fall semester. He also made our baseball team as a pitcher this past spring.”

DE // Mount Laurel, N.J. // Lenape

“Craig is a great example of what dedication to being the best you can be can lead to. He came to our program as a fullback and was primarily a backup for his first two years in our program. He came to me and asked to have a chance to contribute to our team as a defensive end. He has worked hard and has become an important part of our depth at the position. He continues to be an important part of our special teams. His nickname is Diesel, and it suits him.”

RB // Greensburg, Pa. // Hempfield Area

“Joey is one of our captains and has been an important part of our offensive team. He has been through some challenges from an injury standpoint and has always been an example as to how to approach the grueling component of rehab. He is a role model for our younger players when it comes to preparation and how to study the game. His leadership is by example, both on and off the field. He is also the best baseball player on our football team.”

DE // Berwyn, Pa. // Conestoga

“Trevor has done an outstanding job in preparation and has become an important part of our defensive line. He served as a part of our rotation last season and has become a starter for us this year. He actually plays both defensive end and defensive tackle for us. He plans on graduating at the end of the fall semester. He has played offensive tackle and guard on our scout team and does very well.”

S // Bensalem, Pa. // Archbishop Ryan

“Connor was one of the better deep level defenders we have had in our program. He was not able to play during his senior season because of injury. When he played, he was a safety with great range and very good ball skills. His two interceptions against Army were shown to the Ohio State defense by Greg Schiano (BU ’88) when they were preparing to play Army this season. The plays drew raves from the OSU defense.”

WR // Far Hills, N.J. // West Morris Mendham

“Jack was recruited to play quarterback for Bucknell. He came off a highly successful high school career as a QB but had an injury in his first preseason that slowed his progression at the position. We were always very impressed by how athletic he is, and we offered him the possibility of working as a wide receiver. He was resistant at first but finally committed himself to the position. He has since become one of our more reliable receivers. He is also the holder for PATs and field goals; he also made a great play on our first offensive touchdown of the season by throwing a two-point conversion to Andrew Podbielski.”

CB // Shaker Heights, Ohio // Shaker Heights

“Trey has been an important player for us since his first year. He has always done a very good job on our special teams. He has developed into a cornerback who can play both to the field and into the boundary. He is very active on campus and is a leader both on and off the field. He developed and marketed a device that is called the ‘flip 'n flate,’ which has won national awards.”

CB // Murrysville, Pa. // Franklin Regional

“Colin has been a consistent player for us and has scored two touchdowns this season on interception returns. He has helped us as a punt returner and has done a very good job in that capacity. He dealt with a season-ending injury during his junior year and worked diligently through the rehab to be ready for this season. He is a consistent player as our field corner.”

WR // Chesterfield, Mo. // Westminster Christian

“Kyle has been an important part of our receiving corps this year. He has worked hard to develop his skills and has learned all four positions that we utilize in that position group. He took part in very interesting internships the past two summers and has created unique options for himself after graduation.”

TE // Chesapeake, Va. // Nasemond-Suffolk Academy

“Jared is a young man who we recruited to be a safety initially. He has made some changes to his body and has become a tight end for us. I have the privilege of coaching the tight ends, and Jared is an important part of that position group. He plays a significant role in our special teams play and has helped us in our goal-line and short-yardage offense. He has become great friends with Andrew Podbielski, and I know that their friendship will last beyond distance and time.”

QB // Oceanport, N.J. // Shore Regional

“Matt has been a very important member of our program. During his first three years with us, he served primarily in a backup role as a quarterback and punter. Last season, he wound up starting at both positons for us. He started the year as our quarterback and has continued to prepare as the starter even though his progression has been met with adversity. His dedication and leadership as a member of our team will be what I remember most. He is someone who leads by example, and his teammates and coaches truly appreciate this.”

LB // Mount Airy, Md. // Linganore

“Mike was hampered by injuries early in his career. He has continued to play his role in our program as a backup player and a scout team player for us. He has worked hard as a student-athlete and will benefit from his experience in our program.”

TE // Darlington, Pa. // Blackhawk

“Andrew is a young man who has been a very important part of our program. He has worked hard to become one of the better tight ends we have had at Bucknell. His work ethic is exemplary and serves as a great example for the younger players in his position group. His influence goes far beyond that because he takes the challenge of leadership and applies it in his approach: well done is better than well said. Everyone sees how hard he works and knows what this experience means to him.”

LB // Lebanon, Pa. // Lebanon

“Mark has been one of our more consistent players. He is a two-year captain for us and exemplifies the many things we ask for as a leader and as a student-athlete. He was an All-Patriot League player both his sophomore and junior seasons. He makes all of the calls for our defense and has been a force as both a run stopper and in pass coverage. He was a high school quarterback and has evolved as the quarterback for our defense. He and Ben Richard are one of the best linebacker combinations we have had the privilege of coaching at Bucknell.”

LB // Coatesville, Pa. // Herriman (Utah)

“Ben has been one of our best players and is a two time All-Patriot League selection. He is one of the better athletes that we have on our team. He was elected as a co-captain and has been an outstanding leader for our team. Ben and Mark Pyles make a great combination at the linebacker position for our defense. He is the more outspoken of the two but is also a great leader by example. Ben and Mark are excellent role models for the younger players both on and off the field.”

OL // Hershey, Pa. // Hershey

“Chase was recruited to play defensive line at Bucknell. He is a very good athlete and made the transition to offensive tackle in the spring of his sophomore year. He played primarily as a right tackle in his junior season and made the transition to left tackle as a senior. He has done a good job as a leader for our offensive line. Chase works hard at the skills necessary to be a good outside player. He is a leader by example.”
