Clark was honored as the league's Rookie of the Week while Sands captured Offensive Player of the Week accolades for the second time in his career after keying the Bison's 11-9 comeback victory over the Red Foxes.
Clark was also honored on the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association DI Team of the Week. He was the lone freshman to make the 10-man squad, the first of the 2018 campaign.
Clark, who took over in net after Marist's seventh goal, was impressive in his collegiate debut, making four saves, collecting two ground balls and forcing a critical turnover with 1:24 remaining in regulation to help Bucknell defend its two-goal edge. He led a defense that held the Red Foxes off of the scoreboard from the time he entered the game until the 11:05 mark of the fourth quarter, a stretch of nearly 33 minutes.
Sands recorded a game-high eight points on two goals and six assists. Five of his points, a goal and four helpers, came during a 5-0 run that turned a 7-3 deficit into an 8-7 advantage. Sands also posted one caused turnover and one ground ball during the contest.
Thanks to his eight-point outing, Sands now needs just three points to move from seventh to sixth (179) in school history. He is also eight assists shy of becoming the fifth Bison to record 100 in his career.
Sands was previously recognized as the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week on March 20, 2016 after registering six points (3g-3a) in Bucknell's 12-6 win at previously unbeaten, and 15th-ranked, Boston University. In 2015, he was a three-time Patriot League Rookie of the Week.
Clark, Sands and the Bison return to action on Saturday at defending NEC champion Bryant. The opening faceoff is slated for 1 p.m.
