NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – The Bucknell women's swimming & diving team moved up to fifth in the team standings on the second day of the ECAC Championships, held at the Sonny Werblin Recreation Center.

Two relay teams raced to third-place finishes while three Bison swam in the 'A' finals of their respective events. On the strength of those performances, Bucknell will enter the final day of the ECAC championship meet with 211.5 points, a half point back of fourth and 13.5 outside of third.

In the first event of the finals, the 200 medley relay, Lindsay Smalec, Leah Bloodgood, Julianna Foss and Abigail Rosenberg captured ECAC bronze with a time of 1:44.97. Smalec and Rosenberg later teamed with Maura McManus and Emily Gorham to earn a second bronze in the 800 freestyle relay, timing in at 7:35.21.

Caroline Edelman earned Bucknell's highest individual finish to date, taking fifth in the 100 butterfly. Her 56.33 time would have been good for seventh in school history if she hadn't already clocked the third-fastest time (55.78) during last week's Patriot League Championships.

Two Bison qualified for the 400 IM's 'A' finals. Steph Boyd ultimately placed sixth while Brooke Collins touched the wall eighth.

Bloodgood (100 breaststroke), Kelly Cattano (400 IM) and Julianna Foss (100 backstroke) won the consolation finals of their respective events.

Bucknell's other point producers were Rachel Hazard (12th, 100 butterfly), McManus (14th, 200 freestyle) and Maggie Wyngowski (14th, 100 breaststroke).

Through 28 events, Navy (393.5), Penn (277) and Marist (225) remain the top three teams. The ECAC Championships conclude tomorrow. The preliminaries begin at 9 a.m. with the finals following at 4 p.m.
