NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Four Bison and two relay teams qualified for the finals on the second day of the ECAC Championships, held at the Sonny Werblin Recreation Center.

Matt McGoey's performance was a highlight for the Bucknell men's swimming & diving team. The sophomore took sixth in the 100 butterfly with a time of 49.91, which ranks 10th in school history. He was also a member of two relay teams that advanced to the 'A' finals.

McGoey, Chadd Cummings, Jacob Lubinski and Charlie McFarland teamed to give the Bison early momentum, taking sixth in the 200 medley relay. Chris Devlin, McGoey, Vince Filippini and Nate Romanowski later capped the day with a fifth-place finish in the 800 freestyle relay, Bucknell's best to date. 

Garrett Sommer (7th, 3-meter diving), Devlin (11th, 100 butterfly) and Lubinski (14th, 100 butterfly) also scored for the Bison.

As a team, Bucknell remains ninth with 131 points. Through 28 events, Navy (429.5), Columbia (250) and Emmanuel College (215) are the top three teams.

The ECAC Championships conclude tomorrow. The preliminaries begin at 9 a.m. with the finals following at 4 p.m.
