NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – The Bucknell women's swimming & diving team placed third at the ECAC Championships, held at the Sonny Werblin Recreation Center.

The Bison, who entered the final day of competition in fifth place, accumulated 97.5 points on Sunday to vault onto the podium. With 309 points, they edged fourth-place Marist by just five.

Bucknell was bolstered by two runner-up finishes. Julianna Foss earned a silver medal in the 200 butterfly, clocking a time of 2:00.86 that would have ranked second in school history if she hadn't already broken her own school record at last week's Patriot League Championships (2:00.00).

Foss then teamed with Lindsay Smalec, Abigail Rosenberg and Caroline Edelman to take second in the 400 freestyle relay, the final event of the ECAC Championships. The quartet placed two spots higher than Marist's team, which proved to be the difference in the team standings.

Edelman joined Foss in the 200 butterfly's 'A' finals. Edelman, who placed fifth in Saturday's 100 butterfly, took sixth in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:04.73, which was good for seventh in Bucknell's history.

Maggie Wyngowski also qualified for the 'A' finals in her event. The freshman finished eighth in the 200 butterfly, timing in at 2:04.29.

Foss and Edelman weren't the only members of the second-place 400 freestyle relay team who qualified for the finals in individual events. Smalec took 10th in the 200 breaststroke while Rosenberg was 12th in the 100 freestyle.

Maggie Orem (11th, 1,650 freestyle), Kelly Cattano (14th, 200 butterfly) and Maura McManus (15th, 100 freestyle) rounded out Bucknell's Sunday point producers.

Over the course of the ECAC Championships, the Bison qualified for the 'A' finals in six individual events and five relays.

Navy, the 2018 Patriot League champion, claimed the team title with 584.5 points. Penn was second with 402. Marist (304) and Columbia (284) completed the top five.
