ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Junior Katie Childers earned her first career All-Patriot League recognition after finishing in a tie for fifth place, and Bucknell placed fourth in the team standings at the Patriot League Women’s Golf Championships, which wrapped up Sunday at the Naval Academy Golf Club.
The Bison posted 324 on Sunday and 971 over 54 holes. Richmond captured its third straight championship with a 943 composite, holding off host Navy by three strokes. Boston University was third at 963, followed by Bucknell, Lehigh (979) and Holy Cross (1061).
Childers began the final round in second place, two strokes off the lead, after shooting 79-75 on Saturday. She ended up a solid fifth after carding an 82. Richmond’s Sophie DePetrillo finished with a 1-under-par 71 to take medalist honors with a 227 total. Navy’s Morgan Frazier was three back with a 230.
Bucknell’s best round of the day came from sophomore Anna Dailey, who shot 79, including a birdie at the par-3 fourth hole. Senior Lindsay Dodovich closed out her terrific career with an 81, and she finished T-12th overall. Dodovich made two birdies and was 1-over on the back nine.
