LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women's water polo team cruised to a 16-4 victory over Saint Francis in CWPA Championship action Saturday afternoon at Kinney Natatorium.

The fifth-seeded Bison, who closed out the game on an 8-1 run and had five different players net multiple goals, will face eighth-seeded Harvard at 7:30 p.m. tonight thanks to their latest rout of the Red Flash.

Ally Furano paced the high-powered Bucknell attack with five points on four goals and one assist. Shyla Lintz added a hat trick, with all three of her goals coming in a row during the Bison's 5-0 third quarter. Colleen Barron, Kali Hyham and Sarah Mooney each registered two goals while Emily Konishi scored a goal and assisted on two more.

Bucknell's suffocating defense had 11 players post one steal, led by Lintz and Nina Benson with three apiece. The Bison's 19 steals represented a new season-high total, three more than their previous best set against McKendree on Feb. 3 at the Bruno Classic. Saint Francis only sent nine shots on net because of the defense's strong play in front of netminders Manuela Herrera and Hayley Pogue, who combined for seven saves.

At halftime, the Bison held an 8-3 advantage, bolstered by a three-goal flurry in the middle of the second quarter. During a 1:01 stretch, Furano, Konishi and Mooney found the back of the net to make a 5-2 Bucknell edge an 8-2 advantage. While the Red Flash got one back later in that frame, Lintz and Furano combined for five goals in the third quarter to give the Bison a 10-goal edge.

In 2018, Bucknell topped Saint Francis four times by a combined margin of 54-24. The Bison twice held the Red Flash under five goals, in today's 16-4 rout and in April 8's 10-3 victory. Bucknell's total of 16 goals is its second-highest of the 2018 campaign; the Bison dropped Gannon, 17-9, at the Bison Invitational on Feb. 10.

Bucknell (14-18, 3-5 CWPA) will return to the Kinney Natatorium pool tonight at 7:30 p.m. for a game with No. 23 Harvard.
