LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell men’s track and field will send two athletes to the NCAA East Preliminary Meet in Tampa, Florida, on May 24-26. The NCAA announced the official qualifiers on Thursday, and the list included Matthew Fay and Aidan Krombolz.

Fay will make his second straight appearance at the East Preliminary Meet while competing in the pole vault. The junior broke the school record and finished 21st at last year’s meet after he cleared 16-10 ¾. Fay finished third at this year’s Patriot League Championships with a height of 16-9 ¼, which ranks 39th in the East.

“Matt has developed into a consistent and great pole vaulter,” Bucknell head coach Kevin Donner said. “He has a great attitude and mindset, and I believe he has some more left in him for this meet.”

Krombolz will make the trip to the East Preliminary Meet in his first season with the Bison after finishing with the 45th-best javelin distance (209-11) in the East. He recently scored at the Patriot League Championships with a sixth-place finish.

“Aidan has done very well as a freshman, and the experience of competing in this meet as well as USATF Junior Nationals next month will be very valuable for his future,” Donner said.

The top 12 finishers in each event at the East Preliminary Meet will advance to the NCAA Championships.
