LEWISBURG, Pa. – Three Bucknell field hockey players have been selected to train at USA Field Hockey High Performance Training Centers. Rising sophomore Kaelyn Long will train with the Pennsylvania squad, while rising sophomore Sarah Dimock and rising junior Olivia Harris will train with the New Jersey team.
The top athletes will be selected to represent their region at the Young Women's National Championship (YWNC), held annually in June. Selections are performance based to ensure that the strongest representative team participates at the National Championship. The YWNC serves as a selection opportunity for the 2018-19 U.S. U-21 Women’s National Team, U.S. Women’s National Development Squad and U.S. Women’s National Team.
Harris, a goalie for the Bison, was also recently added to the U.S. Indoor Women’s National Team.
Dimock and Long were both key contributors to a Bucknell team that advanced to the Patriot League title game last season. Dimock, a midfielder, started all 20 games and scored one goal. Long, a forward, played in 19 games, including seven starts, and scored the game-winning goal in a shootout in the Bison’s 2-1 win over American in the semifinal round of the conference tournament.
