LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Not only did the Bucknell men's basketball team sail to Patriot League regular-season and tournament titles in 2017-18, but the Bison were also champions in the classroom. The 14 members of the squad combined for a stellar 3.32 grade-point average during the spring semester, and eight of them claimed spots on both the Bucknell Dean's List and the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

The eight Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selections were the most in the league, with no other school posting more than five. In order to earn a spot on the Honor Roll, a student-athlete must achieve a minimum 3.20 GPA during the semester of his/her sport's championship season. The minimum GPA for the Dean's List is a 3.50.

Heading Bucknell's Honor Roll list was junior Nate Jones, who was one of three players across the league to record a perfect 4.0 GPA last semester. All three of Bucknell's standout seniors made the list as well. Nana Foulland (3.89), Stephen Brown (3.75) and Zach Thomas (3.71) were all First Team All-Patriot League selections and 1,000-point scorers for the Bison. Foulland was the 2018 Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year, while Thomas later earned the Alvin F. Jackson Award as the top Scholar-Athlete in Bucknell's Class of 2018.
