LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men's lacrosse team placed 26 student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced Wednesday.
The Bison recorded a combined grade point average of 3.32 this spring, boosted by sophomore accounting & financial management major Reed Malas's perfect 4.0 mark. This is the seventh-straight season Bucknell placed at least 20 student-athletes on the Academic Honor Roll.
Fifteen of the honorees also earned a spot on the Bucknell Dean's List with a GPA of 3.50 or higher.
Four—Malas, sophomore psychology major Christian Klipstein, junior history major Will Sands and senior biomedical engineering major were previously named to the 2017 Academic All-Patriot League Team. Bucknell became only the second school to place four-student athletes on the 12-man team, joining Colgate (2012).
Three—Klipstein, Sands and junior history majorsecured 2017 All-Patriot League laurels. Sands secured a spot on the first team while Klipstein and Gilray made the second team.
Bucknell tied Colgate and Loyola for second in number of honorees. With 33, Lafayette was the leader.
To be eligible for the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must achieve at least a 3.20 grade-point average during the semester in which their team competes.
