EASTON, Pa. – Ben Littman finished 16th and Bucknell took fourth as a team at Lafayette’s Leopard Invitational on Saturday. It was the second meet of the weekend for the Bison, who sent runners to the Penn State National Open on Friday.
Littman’s 16th-place showing came in a field of 47 runners from four teams, including Saint Joseph’s, Lafayette, and Juniata. He completed the 8k course in 27:58.
Brendan McGill and Riley Gardner finished just outside of the top 20, taking 21st and 22nd, respectively. They were followed for the Bison by Matt Vira (27th), Nick Pacelli (28th), James Weissenborn (29th), and Scott Gulizio (30th).
“Our men looked a bit tired, which surprised me based on how our men raced yesterday at Penn State,” Bucknell head coach Kevin Donner said. “The experience of getting on a true cross country course is valuable to our future.
Saint Joseph’s took the top four spots, led by race-winner Colin Gallagher in 26:52. The Hawks won the team title with 16 points and were followed by Lafayette with 63.
Bucknell now turns its attention to the postseason, beginning with the Patriot League Championships at Lehigh on Saturday, Oct. 28. The Mid-Atlantic Regional is also at Lehigh on Friday, Nov. 10.
