ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Bucknell men's golf team closed with a 315 team total Sunday and finished in 11th place at the Navy Invitational. Zachary Melnick was the low Bison with a 5-over-par 76 and a 36-hole total of 155.
With several of the regular starters spending the weekend at home prepping for next week's Patriot League Championship, which will be held at the Bucknell Golf Club, the Bison finished with a 627 composite over 36 holes.
Connor O'Brien closed with a 78, six strokes better than his first-round score. D.J. Magee finished with an 80, followed by J.B. Thompson with an 81 and Ashton Radvansky with an 85. Jack Gregor shot 81 playing as an individual.
George Mason shot 296-291 for a 36-hole total of 587 to win the team title by six shots over St. John's. Saint Joseph's was third at 594. Fifth-place Navy matched George Mason for low final round with a 291.
Kyle Hart of George Mason finished with a 2-under 69 to take medalist honors by one stroke over Wagner's Lucas Moreno, the first-round leader.
Bucknell will host the Patriot League Championship next Saturday and Sunday. The tournament consists of 36 holes Saturday and 18 Sunday, with an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament on the line.
