BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- The Bucknell women's golf team wrapped up its fall season Monday with a sixth-place finish at the Lehigh Invitational at Saucon Valley Country Club. The Bison posted a 325 team score in the second and final round, eight strokes better than their opening-round mark, and they moved up one spot in the standings.
Linday Dodovich had the round of the day for the Bison with a 7-over-par 79. Bucknell started on the 10th hole, and Dodovich got out to a great start. She made back-to-back birdies at 11 and 12 and was 2-under through five holes. She posted a 1-over 37 on her first nine holes before closing with a 42 on her second nine. Dodovich finished in a tie for 15th individually.
The rest of the Bucknell contingent fared better on Saucon Valley's front nine, however. The Bison also counted an 81 from Katie Childers, an 82 from Emily Larson and an 83 from Anna Dailey. That trio was a combined 26-over on holes 10-18 but just 4-over on holes 1-9. All three made a birdie on that side, Larson at No. 2, Dailey at No. 4 and Childers at No. 7.
Host Lehigh won the tournament by four shots over Georgetown. The Hoyas turned in Monday's best round with a 312, but the Mountain Hawks shot 314 to hold on for the win. Monmouth was third, followed by Siena, Navy, Bucknell, Saint Francis (Pa.), Niagara and Holy Cross.
With a 658 total for 36 holes, the Bison finished just one shot behind Navy and five in back of Siena.
Aileen Jeong and Elizabeth McGarrigle of Lehigh tied for the individual lead at 10-over 154. McGarrigle was declared the medalist based on second-round score.
