FAIRFAX, Va. – The Bucknell women’s track and field team competed at the George Mason Invitational Saturday at George Mason Stadium. The Bison scored 21 points at the meet.
In the 800-meter run, Christine Bendzinski set a personal-record with an ECAC-qualifying time of 2:10.38, now fourth-fastest in school history. Sarah Chandler completed the race with an ECAC-qualifying mark of 2:11.46, now fifth-fastest in school annals.
In the 4x100m relay, a team comprised of Michaela Mincone, Taylor Kennedy, Chelsea Reynolds and Kafilat Oladiran posted a top-10 program time with a mark of 49.74. In the 4x400m relay, a team of Kennedy, Rebecca Rooney, Mincone and Natalie Waterhouse scored with a time of 4:01.87
Ella Schultz was the runner-up in the shot put, taking second with a toss of 44-5 ½, now the sixth-farthest throw in school history. Kasey Getkin scored for Bucknell in the javelin, taking sixth with a toss of 130-09, while Molly Montalvo added to the Bison score in the hammer.
Laura Papili scored in the 400m hurdles, recording a time of 1:04.07.
38th Annual Sun Angel Classic
TEMPE, Ariz. – The Bucknell women’s track and field team had a contingent of Bison compete at the 38th Annual Sun Angel Classic hosted at Arizona State.
In the 4x100m relay, a team comprised Carly Reiner, Allison Sharkey, Kaitlin Salisbury and Meg Sangimino recorded a top-10 program performance with a time of 47.14.
Bucknell returns to action Apr. 14-15 when it hosts the Bison Outdoor Classic at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. The two-day meet will broadcast on FloTrack. Sign up here.
