BOSTON – Anna Gimmestad scored the go-ahead run on a passed ball with two outs in the top of the eighth inning as Bucknell took game three of a series at Boston University with a 2-1 win Sunday at the BU Softball Field.

The Bison close the regular season at 26-21-1 overall and 13-5 in the Patriot League. The Terriers, who still have a three-game series with Colgate remaining on the schedule, saw their 15-game winning streak come to an end while falling to 33-18 overall and 12-3 in the conference.

Bucknell will either be the first or second seed in the Patriot League Tournament on May 10-12. If Boston University wins just one game against Colgate, it will host the tournament. If Colgate was to sweep the series, then the Bison would be the top seed and host for the four-team event.

Lauren Hadley gave Bucknell the early lead Sunday with a solo home run on the 10th pitch she saw in the second inning. It was her eighth homer of the season.

The Terriers tied the game with an RBI triple by Jilee Schanda in the fifth inning, but Lauren Lichtenwalner held them scoreless the rest of the way.

With one out in the eighth inning, Gimmestad doubled on a 2-2 pitch to put the go-ahead run in scoring position. She moved to third on a groundout before scoring on a passed ball.

Boston threatened in the bottom half of the inning, loading the bases with two outs, before a groundout ended the game. The Terriers stranded a total of 13 runners on base.

Taylor Langtry started in the circle for Bucknell and pitched 3.1 scoreless innings. Lichtenwalner gave up just one run over the final 4.2 innings to record her sixth win of the season.

Bucknell finished with five hits. Meghan Kovac and Taylor Wolfgang added doubles, while Tara Baglivo singled. Marisa Alemany walked to up her on-base streak to 25 consecutive games.
