HAMILTON, N.Y. -- The Bucknell men's golf team put up team scores of 306 and 299 on Saturday on the opening day of the Alex Lagowitz Memorial Invitational, hosted by Colgate at Seven Oaks GC. The Bison are tied for ninth place in a 15-team field heading into Sunday's final round. A 1-over-par 73 from J.P. Raftery in the morning round was the best of the day for Bucknell's five-man unit.

Raftery had two birdies and 13 pars en route to that 73. He was enjoying another worry-free round in the afternoon until a triple-bogey at the par-4 16th hole led to a 77. His 150 total is still the best on the team and puts him in a tie for 25th place. Jubal Early (78-74), Peter Bradbeer (78-74) and Chris Tanabe (77-75) all tallied 152, while Ashton Radvansky posted 79-76. Connor O'Brien, playing as an individual, shook off an opening 86 and came back to post a 73 in the second round.

Bradbeer led the team with five birdies in round two, while Tanabe made four.

Cornell has a two-shot lead over Lehigh and Fairleigh Dickinson in the team standings. The Big Red sit at 591 after rounds of 305 and 286. North Dakota State and Seton Hall round out the top five. Bucknell and Delaware are tied for ninth at 605, just three shots behind eighth-place Rider.

Jack Casier, playing as an individual for Cornell, sits atop the player leaderboard at 4-under 140 after firing a pair of 70s. Billy Johns of Lehigh is just one back.

The third and final round starts Sunday at 9 a.m. Bucknell is paired with Rider and St. Bonaventure.
