Kane and Erskine wrapped up the tournament with a 6-2 loss to Butler’s Mason Dragos and Ari Gerstein in the semifinal round of Flight B doubles. Dragos and Gerstein went on to win the title with an easy 6-1 victory in the championship match.
Kane and Erskine advanced to the semifinals with a pair of wins on Friday, beating teams from Chicago State and Washington University in St. Louis.
"It was great for the seniors to step outside their comfort zones and play schools and players we typically never compete against," Bucknell head coach Bruce Myers said. "Because Bucknell student-athletes focus on their careers typically during the summer, we are always playing a bit of catch up in the fall versus other teams. This is especially true with seniors and very true with this group of four guys."
The Bison will travel to compete at the Binghamton Championships on Sept. 22-24.
"We played a lot of matches in three days - four singles and three doubles matches and can go back home with a lot of areas to work and improve upon going forward," Myers said.
