PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Bucknell won three matches as it opened up the Temple Invitational against Drexel on Saturday at Vidas Courts, the home courts of the Dragons. The Bison won one doubles match and a pair of singles contests.

Senior Timber Erskine and freshman Max Garramone notched the doubles win for Bucknell on court two. They outlasted Xandy Hammitt and Balaji Lakshmanan 7-5. Erskine and Garramone were playing together for the first time.

Garramone was also one of two Bucknell players to win in singles, picking up an 8-7 victory over Lakshmanan on court four. Lakshmanan, a veteran player, went 22-13 while playing on courts two and three last year as a junior.

Garramone evened his record at 4-4.

Another freshmen, Adrien Crastes, registered Bucknell’s other singles win. He edged Vuk Subotic 8-6 on court seven. Crastes improved to 2-2 this fall.

Bucknell continues play in the Temple Invitational with a match against the Owls on Sunday at 10 a.m.
