SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Bucknell men’s tennis opened its spring break trip in California with a 6-1 loss to UC San Diego, the 18th ranked Division II team in the nation. The Tritons improved to 3-0 against Division I opponents this season, adding to earlier victories over Villanova and Boston University.
Colin Sacco won in singles for a second straight match, bumping up to court four for a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 victory over Richard Han. The Bison sophomore was also the team’s lone singles winner while playing on court six against Drexel last match, and is now 13-8 during the fall and spring seasons combined.
Bucknell played UC San Diego for just the second time in program history. The Bison beat the Tritons 4-3 last season.
The Bison will play two matches on Monday. They will play at UC Riverside at 12:30 p.m., and at Point Loma Nazarene at 6:30 p.m.
