SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Bucknell men’s tennis continued its spring trip to California with a pair of losses on Monday, falling 6-1 to UC Riverside and 9-2 to Point Loma Nazarene.
Each of Bucknell’s two opponents on Monday has been playing well as of late with matching four-match winning streaks. UC Riverside improved to 8-10, including a 2-0 mark against Patriot League opponents, while Point Loma Nazarene upped its record to 6-4. The Bison dipped to 2-12 overall.
Bucknell took two of three doubles matches to get the first point against UC Riverside. Daniel Wright and Ben Gerber teamed up for a 6-1 victory on court one, while Max McDonald and Andrei Vitiuc were 6-3 winners on court three.
Playing with a nine-point scoring system against Point Loma, Bucknell notched one points in singles and one in doubles. Max Kane highlighted the day with a 3-6, 7-5, 14-12 victory on court two, while McDonald and Adrien Crastes paired for an 8-5 win on court three doubles.
The Bison will play two matches on Wednesday, playing a 1:30 p.m. match at Cypress College and a 9:30 p.m. match at Pepperdine.
