LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women’s water polo team concluded play at the Bison Invitational on Sunday with a 14-6 loss to No. 19 Wagner. Shyla Lintz scored a team-high three goals for the Bison, who finished the weekend with a 3-1 mark.

Bucknell (3-3) saw its three-game winning streak snapped with the loss, while Wagner (3-7) won its second in a row to finish the weekend 2-1.

The Bison opened the weekend with victories over Gannon, Mercyhurst and St. Francis Brooklyn, scoring double-figure goals in each match. Bucknell had a tough time finding the back of the net on Sunday, despite generating 20 shots.

Marta Considine posted two assists, while Manuela Herrera registered five stops in cage.

Wagner led the Bison 9-2 at halftime. In the third quarter, Bucknell made a run, outscoring the Seahawks 4-2 to trim the deficit to five. Wagner pulled away in the fourth quarter, scoring the game’s final three goals.

Bucknell will travel to Erie, Pennsylvania, to compete at the Mercyhurst Invitational on Feb. 18-19. The Bison have matches against George Washington, Mercyhurst, VMI and Gannon.
