LEWISBURG, Pa. – In the first ever meeting between the two programs, the Bucknell women’s water polo team defeated Saint Francis (Pa.) by a 12-5 decision Sunday at Kinney Natatorium. Emily Konishi recorded a game-high seven points.

Konishi scored three goals while handing out a team-high four assists. Tegan Stanbach joined Konishi with three goals, while Shyla Lintz, Colleen Barron and Marta Considine contributed with two goals each.

The Bison outscored the Red Flash 6-1 in the opening period and led 10-3 by halftime. Bucknell added two more goals in the third period en route to picking up its second conference win of the year.

Bucknell tallied a season-best 23 steals, including a career-high five from Considine. Konishi, Gigi Rojahn and Manuela Herrera recorded three swipes apiece.

Herrera started in cage for the Bison, posting five saves. Haley Derrod played the final period, recording one save and one steal.

The Bison conclude the weekend with a match against No. 7 Michigan at 3 p.m. The game will broadcast on the Patriot League Network.
