LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell baseball team took a break from Patriot League play to host Binghamton Wednesday and lost by a 12-0 score at Depew Field. The Bearcats used seven pitchers in the contest, as the hurlers limited the Bison to just three hits.

Binghamton starter Jake Miller (1-0) earned his first career win. He held the Bison without a hit while striking out one in two innings pitched. The six relievers pitched one inning apiece behind him.

The Bearcats (10-5) totaled 10 hits in the game, as they scored three runs in the second inning, one run in the fourth inning, four runs in the sixth inning and four more in the ninth inning.

Miles Moore notched his first collegiate hit in the contest, while Keifer Rawlings and Chuckie Scales each recorded a single.

Making his first career start, freshman Nate Grisius (0-1) suffered the loss for the Bison. He pitched 3.2 innings and allowed two hits and three earned runs while striking our four and walking four. The Bison used five relievers for the final 5.1 innings.

Bucknell (12-14) resumes league play this weekend with a four-game series against Army West Point. Doubleheaders both days begin at noon. Saturday and Sunday’s contests will have a live audio broadcast available via BucknellBison.com.
