LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Sophomore guard Kimbal Mackenzie of the Bucknell men's basketball team has been selected as the Fifth Quarter Fresh Bison Athlete of the Week after playing a key role in two road victories last week.

On Thursday at American, Mackenzie scored 18 of his game-high 24 points in the second half, and he helped the Bison flip a seven-point deficit into a nine-point win (69-60). Mackenzie hit 6 of 9 shots from the field and all 11 of his free throws en route to his third 20-point game of the season. He went 9-for-9 at the foul line in the final 4:23 of the game to help protect the lead.

Mackenzie also had four rebounds, three assists, and zero turnovers in a season-high 37 minutes of action.

Bucknell made it a 4-0 start in conference play with a 68-49 win at Holy Cross on Sunday. Mackenzie had 10 points in that victory, giving him four straight double-figure scoring games for the first time in his career.

Mackenzie is now averaging 10.5 points per game on the season, and his 16.5 ppg Patriot League scoring average is seventh-best in the conference. Mackenzie will take a streak of 19 straight made free throws into Wednesday's home game with Lehigh, where the 12-5 Bison will take on the preseason league favorite at 7 p.m.
