LEWISBURG, Pa. – The No. 17 Bucknell men's water polo team edged George Washington, 11-9, Saturday afternoon at Kinney Natatorium to remain undefeated in MAWPC play and run its home winning streak to 13 games.

The Bison (10-6, 6-0 MAWPC) and Colonials (9-7, 3-3 MAWPC) entered the fourth quarter locked in a 9-9 tie. Marko Djordjevic netted what proved to be the game-winning goal with 6:23 remaining in regulation off of a Tommy Stupp feed.

After Djordjevic's goal, the Bucknell defense held fast. With 5:14 on the clock, Charlie Niehaus denied Andras Levai from point-blank range. Then, at the 3:45 mark, Matt Blackwell lunged to break up a dangerous centering feed by Atakan Destici that was intended for Levai.

Rade Joksimovic made a key field block on Levai with 1:37 left to play and then sealed the victory at the 1:13 mark with his third goal of the contest.

Joksimovic (3g-3a) and Djordjevic (3g-2a) led the way offensively while Niehaus made 10 saves in net.

Cooper Dolan (2g-2a), Jared Stanley (2g) and Stupp (1g-1a) also had multi-point outings. Djordjevic (5) and Joksimovic (4) each posted multiple steals while Logan Schofield led the Bison with three ejections drawn.

Bucknell and George Washington were tied, 2-2, at the end of the first quarter. The Colonials pulled away in the second, carrying a 7-5 advantage into halftime by scoring three unanswered goals, including one with two seconds left on the clock, to end the frame.

The Bison netted three of the third quarter's first four goals to knot the game at eight apiece. Stanley gave Bucknell the advantage with 1:41 to go after being sprung ahead on a partial breakaway by Niehaus. But Pierce Dreamer scored his team-leading third goal of the contest with 23 seconds on the clock to send the teams into the final frame in a 9-9 stalemate.

Joksimovic finished Saturday's games with 11 points. During Bucknell's 11-7 win over Wagner in the morning, he recorded five (4g-1a).

The Bison, who are 28-4 in their home pool since the beginning of the 2015 campaign, next travel to Cambridge, Mass. for the Harvard Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 14 to Sunday, Oct. 15. They will face Wagner (9:30 a.m.) and Brown (2 p.m.) on Oct. 14 and St. Francis Brooklyn (8 a.m.) and Princeton (1 p.m.) on Oct. 15.
