LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The Bucknell Athletics Leadership Institute will present a special panel discussion entitled "Lessons from Sports by Women Leaders" this Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in the Terrace Room on campus. Three outstanding Bucknell alumni who have gone on to achieve tremendous success in the business world will serve as panelists: Hall of Famers Dawn Becker '85 (softball) and Jennifer Yuengling '93 (softball), along with Bucknell Athletics Alumni Achievement Award recipient Christine (Peterjohn) Richards '76 (swimming & diving).
Bucknell dean of students Dr. Amy Badal will moderate the discussion, which will touch on a wide variety of topics related to leadership. The panelists will discuss how their careers as student-athletes prepared them for life beyond college.

Dawn M. Becker: Executive Vice President – General Counsel and Secretary, Federal Realty Investment Trust; Bucknell Board of Trustee Member
Dawn Becker is Executive Vice President – General Counsel and Secretary of Federal Realty Investment Trust. Ms. Becker serves as a key advisor to the Chief Executive Officer on all matters relating to the operations and growth of the company and has primary responsibility for the Trust’s human resources, legal and information technology functions as well as all other services that support the company’s operating divisions.
Ms. Becker joined Federal Realty in 1997, and was named Chief Operating Officer in 2010 and General Counsel and Secretary in 2002. Ms. Becker also advises the Trust’s Board on corporate governance issues and serves as a member of the Trust’s Investment Committee. Ms. Becker received a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Bucknell University and holds a Juris Doctorate from Stanford University School of Law. She is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Urban Land Institute and Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce.
Christine P. Richards: Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, Federal Express Corporation
Christine P. Richards recently retired as Executive Vice President, general counsel and secretary of FedEx Corp., where she served on the five-person Executive Committee responsible for planning and executing the corporation’s strategic business activities. She was responsible for ensuring that the corporation’s global activities were in compliance with international, federal, state and local government regulations, and was responsible for international and domestic legal, security and government affairs for the all FedEx operating companies and subsidiaries. Ms. Richards served as corporate vice president of Customer and Business Transactions before assuming her most recent position in June 2005. She joined FedEx in 1984 from private practice. Ms. Richards earned her bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University and her Juris Doctorate from Duke University.
Jennifer Yuengling: Vice President of Operations, D.G. Yuengling & Son Inc.
Jennifer Yuengling serves as the Vice President of Operations of the three breweries for D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc., America’s Oldest Brewery. She is sixth generation of a family brewing legacy that began in 1829 in Pottsville, Pa. The Yuengling Brewery is still family-owned and operated today, having achieved a milestone 185th Anniversary in 2014. It distributes beer in 20 states along the East Coast and produces a variety of year-round brands including Traditional Lager, Light Lager, Black & Tan, Lord Chesterfield Ale, Dark Brewed Porter, Premium and Light, as well as a seasonal Oktoberfest beer. Ms. Yuengling graduated from Bucknell University with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. Following graduation, she completed her MEd in counseling psychology from Lehigh University. After returning to her hometown of Pottsville, Ms. Yuengling joined the family business in 1996 and spent the next several years training throughout the operations departments. She received her Diploma Certificate from the Siebel Institute of Brewing Technology in Chicago. She currently works in an operations role for the brewery, concentrating her efforts in Order Services and Production Scheduling.
