LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Nearly 40 Bucknell student-athletes from a variety of sports traveled to New York City last week to engage with about three-dozen alumni at a Bucknell Athletics Leadership Institute career networking seminar. The event was sponsored by Mark and Lucy Stitzer, parents of former Bison men's golf student-athlete Schuyler Stitzer '14, and held at the New York Yacht Club.

The current Bison student-athletes participated in speed interviewing sessions with the alumni group, and then they had the opportunity to network with individuals from a variety of industries.

This was the second alumni networking event of the academic year. Back in November, a similar event was held at the Graham Building in Philadelphia, sponsored by Bill Graham '62. The Bucknell lacrosse team also conducted a networking event in New York City with alumni from that sport in January.

"We have such a large group of alumni who are not only very successful in their careers, but they also remember their Bucknell days fondly and want to stay engaged with their school and with their teams," said Lauren Wicklund, associate director of athletics for leadership development. "So far these alumni networking events have been very well received by both the alumni and the current student-athletes. The opportunity to connect different generations of Bison student-athletes is extremely beneficial for everyone involved."
