About the Bison
- Bucknell has opened its season against a pair of nationally ranked opponents. The Bison lost to No. 1 Oklahoma State and No. 12 Lehigh in the first two weeks of the 2016-17 season.

- This is the 11th consecutive year the Bison have competed at the Navy Classic.

- Bucknell finished in seventh place out of 10 teams at last year’s Navy Classic. The host Mids have won the team title in 19 of the 38 years the event has been held.

- Former Bison Paul Petrov won the 125-pound title at the Navy Classic each of the last two years.

- Current Bison Tom Sleigh (2nd at 184) and Victor Lopez (3rd at 149) were placewinners at the Navy Classic last November.

- Lopez (at Oklahoma State), Garrett Hoffman (at Lehigh) and Sleigh (at Lehigh) are Bison to post victories in dual matches this season.

- Bucknell wrestlers have also competed at the Clarion Open and Bearcat Open this fall. Thanks to these tournament competitions, freshman Drew Phipps leads the team in victories with five.

- Tom Sleigh (No. 13 at 197) is the only Bison in this week’s Intermat national rankings.

- Victor Lopez enters the weekend tied for 14th on Bucknell’s all-time wins list with 81 victories. He is tied with Hall of Famer Bryan Burns.
