About the Bison
-- Bucknell makes its 2016-17 home debut Tuesday when it hosts Franklin & Marshall. It is the latest home opener for the Bison since the 1996-97 season when their first home match (vs. North Carolina State) was on Jan. 11.

-- Tuesday’s match will be Bucknell’s first dual since a Nov. 11 match at Lehigh. The Bison have wrestled just two duals this season and both have been against nationally ranked opponents.

-- Bucknell’s last three events – Navy Classic, Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational, Cleveland State Open – have been tournaments. A number of Bison have also wrestled unattached in a number of other individual tournaments.

-- Returning NCAA qualifiers Tyler Smith, Victor Lopez and Tom Sleigh all appear in the national rankings at their weight classes. Sleigh’s No. 12 ranking at 197 by The Open Mat is the highest for a Bison wrestler this week.

-- Freshman Garrett Hoffman leads Bucknell in victories this season with a 13-9 record. The rookie 184-pounder has finished in fifth place at the Cleveland State Open and sixth place at the Navy Classic this year.

-- Lopez enters Tuesday’s match with a 91-47 career record, placing him 10th on the program’s all-time wins list.

-- Bucknell’s projected lineup for Tuesday features four freshmen, one sophomore, three juniors and two seniors.

-- Bucknell is 14-3 in its last 17 duals in Davis Gym.

-- Bison head coach Dan Wirnsberger enters Tuesday’s match with 98 victories during his time at Bucknell.
