About the Bison
-- Bucknell has won three matches in a row entering the weekend. The Bison swept EIWA foes Harvard (W, 24-16) and Brown (W, 25-15) on the road last weekend. Jordan Gessner (125), Tyler Smith (141), Victor Lopez (157), Tom Sleigh (197) and Tyler Greene (285) each posted a 2-0 weekend against the Crimson and Bears.

-- Bucknell will host Penn Friday in Davis Gym. It will mark the first dual in Davis Gym for the Bison since last Jan. 31 when they hosted Bloomsburg. Bucknell is 14-3 in its last 17 duals in Davis Gym.

-- Bucknell is 1-0 at home this year. The Bison opened their home schedule Jan. 10 with a 33-6 win over Franklin & Marshall in Sojka Pavilion.

-- Bucknell is a perfect 5-0 against unranked foes this year. Neither Penn nor Bloomsburg are in the national top 25 this week.

-- Bucknell head coach Dan Wirnsberger, who recently earned his 100th win at Bucknell, was the head coach at Bloomsburg for three seasons before settling in Lewisburg. Wirnsberger coached the Huskies from 2002-03 to 2004-05.

-- Tyler Smith, Victor Lopez and Tom Sleigh remain in the national rankings at their weight classes this week. Lopez’s No. 10 ranking by The Open Mat marks the highest ranking for a Bison grappler this week.

-- Sleigh enters the weekend with a team-best 21-4 record. The junior has won a team-best 12 bouts in a row.

-- Lopez won two matches last week by a combined 31-0 score. Each of his last three victories have been by shutout and he is now 17-4 on the year. Lopez ranks ninth on the program’s career wins list with a 97-48 four-year record.

-- Bucknell has competed in 90 bouts in its nine duals this year and freshmen have wrestled in 32 of those bouts. Freshman Jordan Gessner has been in the lineup at 125 pounds in all nine duals, while classmates Joey Gould (133) and Seth Hogue (149) have started in eight matches apiece.
