LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell's Abdullah Anderson was selected as a STATS FCS Preseason All-American, the organization announced Monday.

Anderson was placed on the third team. He was one of only five Patriot League players to be named a Preseason All-American by STATS, joining Colgate's Pat Afriyie (first team), Fordham's Chase Edmonds (first team) and Lehigh's Dom Bragalone (third team) and Troy Pelletier (second team).

Anderson enters 2017 as the only Bison senior to start all 33 games since arriving in Lewisburg. He has recorded 129 tackles (76 solo), 24.5 tackles for a loss and three blocked kicks in his career.

A 2017 captain, Anderson was previously named to the 2016 and 2015 All-Patriot League First Teams, the 2017, 2016 and 2015 Patriot League Preseason All-League Teams and the 2014 All-Patriot League Second Team. This is his first national honor.
