LEWISBURG, Pa. – In the midst of preparing for their regular season finale at Army West Point on Saturday, Bucknell women’s soccer members Alexis Gannon, Kendall Ham and Jackie Ham earned CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 Team honors, announced by the organization on Thursday. All three Bison are receiving the citation for the first time in their careers and will advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.

Academic All-America candidates are nominated and selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore with a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or key reserve.

This is the third time the Bison women’s soccer team has garnered as many as three Academic All-District selections. The last was in 2011, when Tara Cort, Megan DeGennaro and Meghan Fitzpatrick all made the squad.

Gannon, an Academic All-Patriot League honoree last season, carries a 3.76 GPA in neuroscience. The tri-captain has worked at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in the Center for Childhood Cancer Research, where she worked with doctors who focus on neuroblastoma, a tumor that primarily affects children. She has also shadowed at Gillette Children’s Hospital, Lakeview Clinic and Southlake Pediatrics in Minnesota.

On the pitch, Gannon has been an important member of the Patriot League’s top ranked offense. She has started in all 16 games this year, posting three goals and five assists for 11 points, tied for third on the team.

Kendall Ham carries a 3.84 GPA in Biology and is a two-year Patriot League Academic Honor Roll member. The Patriot League Preseason Offensive Player of the Year has been a force in 2016, helping the Bison rank second in the nation in scoring offense (2.88) and first in points per game (8.31). She has recorded a league-best 14 goals, fourth most in the country. Ham has accumulated 28 goals and 63 points in her career, which ranks seventh and eighth, respectively, on Bucknell’s all-time lists.

Kendall's identical twin sister, Jackie, carries a 3.93 GPA in accounting and financial management. The Preseason All-Patriot League selection has helped the Bison back line become one of the top defensive units in the country. Bucknell has allowed just 10 goals all season, fewest in the Patriot League, while posting nine shutouts. Ham has also proven to be a dual-threat, handing out four assists, a top-10 mark in the conference.

Division I Academic All-America winners will be announced on November 22nd.
