LEWISBURG, Pa. – After becoming the first Bison in program history to earn National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-America recognition for her outstanding play on the field, junior Kendall Ham became the second Bucknell player to earn NSCAA Scholar All-America honors for her excellence in the classroom, while also earning a spot on the NSCAA Scholar All-East Team.

Ham joins Christa Matlack as the only Bison to receive NSCAA Scholar All-America honors. Matlack earned the citation in 2009 and 2010. Ham is also the first Bison to earn Scholar All-East recognition since Courtney Nelson in 2014.

Ham continues to rack up postseason awards following a strong junior campaign. This fall, she was crowned Patriot League Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Year and Scholar-Athlete of the Year, while earning a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, followed by a CoSIDA Academic All-America nod.

Ham carries a 3.84 cumulative grade-point average in biology and is a two-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll member.

On the pitch, Ham was the premier striker in the Patriot League. She led the league in points (35) and goals (15), earning First Team All-Patriot League accolades for the second consecutive season. The junior helped the Bison have one of the top offenses in the country, ranking fourth in scoring offense (2.55), fifth in points per game (7.45) and eighth in total goals (51).

Most importantly, Ham helped contribute to one of the best seasons in school history. Bucknell finished the year 16-2-2 overall and 8-1-0 in the Patriot League, setting program records in wins and win percentage (.850). The Bison captured their third Patriot League title, advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2005.

With another season to play, the speedy forward has already etched her name into the Bucknell record book, ranking seventh in points (67), seventh in goals (29) and fourth in game-winning goals (11).

Ham and all of the NSCAA Scholar All-America selections will be recognized at the annual All-America Luncheon in Los Angeles on Jan. 14 in conjunction with the 2017 NSCAA Convention.
