LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell women’s soccer assistant coach Leigh Howard has been chosen to the United Soccer Coaches’ (formerly the NSCAA) 30 Under 30 Program. The 2017-18 class features 15 men and 15 women selected from more than 300 applicants.
The 30 Under 30 program, launched in 2013, is a year-long education and mentorship opportunity constructed to support up-and-coming members of the coaching profession who are 30 years of age or younger. Each member is matched with a mentor dedicated to advancing their growth in the game and expanding their coaching network.
“I am very fortunate to have been selected,” says Howard. “This program provides a tremendous amount of support to young coaches around the country and has a great reputation for the learning experience that it fosters. I am looking forward to building on my already sound foundation of mentors, Kelly Cook and David Madsen included, through this program with United Soccer Coaches.
In her two seasons with the Bison, Howard has helped the squad post a 27-8-5 overall record, including a 14-2-2 mark in Patriot League play.
Bucknell has reached the Patriot League Championship game each of the last two seasons, capturing the league title in 2016 and earning a NCAA berth for the first time since 2005. The Bison women’s soccer coaching staff earned Regional Staff of the Year honors in 2016.
