LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell men’s cross country freshman Ben Siciliano has been named Patriot League M-F Athlete Male Rookie Runner of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday, following a strong performance at the Virginia/Panorama Farms Invitational.
Siciliano finished 43rd in a field of 113 runners, completing the 8k course in 25:28. In a race that featured three Patriot League schools, including American and Loyola, Siciliano was the top Patriot League rookie finisher.
Luke Giugliano was an honorable mention after placing 27th in the race with a time of 24:47. He was the top Patriot League runner by 13 spots in the standings. Giugliano has now been the top finisher for Bucknell in each of its last two races.
Bucknell, ranked 10th in the Mid-Atlantic region, finished eighth in a competitive field of 14 teams with a score of 218. They beat out conference foes American (281) and Loyola (416), while finishing ahead of Appalachian State (282), Clemson (288), Coastal Carolina (351) and Hofstra (399).
The Bison are in action this weekend at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh.
