LEWISBURG, Pa. – Brittany Bishop, Caroline Orem, and Julianna Foss all won individual events Saturday as Bucknell women’s swimming and diving closed the regular season by hosting the Bison Invite at Kinney Natatorium. In the pool for the final meet before the Patriot League Championships, the Bison swimmers didn’t compete in their primary events during the unscored invitational.

Bishop posted a first-place finish in the 200 IM, which was Bucknell’s best event on the day. She won in a field of 46 swimmers with a time of 2:07.69, and was followed by teammates Paige Daniel, Emma Hadley, and Abby Merriman to give the Bison the top four spots. Daniel, Hadley, and Merriman were all competing in the event for the first time at Bucknell.

Orem’s win also came in a large field of swimmers, as she took first out of 33 in the 50 free. She won with a time of 24.65, while teammate Megan Barpoulis was second and Caroline Edelman took fourth.

Foss bested nine other swimmers to take first in the 400 IM, clocking in at 4:28.62. Competing in the event for the first time, she was just over a second from cracking the program’s top-10 list. Daniel was right behind her to add another runner-up finish.

The Bucknell divers had their best meet of the year off the 1-meter board. Paige Schoelkopf was third with a score of 212.85, while Tally Ford was fourth with 212.40 points. Those were the best two scores of the season for the Bison.

Other notable swims for the Bison include runner-up finishes by Julie Byrne (100 free) and Libby O'Hare (200 breast). Byrne was second out of 40 swimmers.

Hadley competed in the 100 fly for the first time in her collegiate career and took third. Her time of 58.11 was less than a second from moving her into the program’s top-10 list.

Bucknell will host the Patriot League Championships at Kinney Natatorium on Feb. 15-18.
