SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Bucknell women’s track and field freshman Christine O’Kane qualified for the USA Junior National Championships Monday at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier.
O’Kane placed sixth out of 29 runners in the 5,000-meter event, crossing the line in 17:36.18. In order to qualify for the USA Junior National Championships, an athlete must be 19 years or younger. The meet will be held in Clovia, Calif. on June 24-26.
Junior Elizabeth Sheprow took fourth out of 13 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, completing the race in 10:52.39. Her time is a new personal-record and is the second-fastest mark in program history.
In the 800-meter run, junior Lauren Lamoureux finished 26th out of 44 with a time of 2:19.20.
