PRINCETON, N.J. – Bucknell women’s track and field finished ninth overall while adding one individual and one relay All-East honor on the final day of the ECAC Championships at Princeton’s Weaver Stadium.

The Bison finished in the top 10 for the third straight year, finishing with 28 points. They were the best of the six Patriot League teams that scored points at the event, beating out Army West Point, Boston University, Navy, Holy Cross, and Lehigh. Albany won the title with 67 points.

Bucknell was led by a runner-up showing from its 4x800 relay team. Christine Bendzinski, Madeleine Hunt, Tiara Tardy, and Jenna Farmer clocked in at 9:00.75, coming in just behind first-place Marist’s time of 9:00.75. Those two teams were well ahead of the competition as the third-place team, Cornell, finished in 9:03.54.

Lauren Hudson picked up All-East recognition in the high jump, just one week after earning All-Patriot League status in the event. She cleared 5-5 ¼ to take seventh overall.

“That was the first time earning All-East in the high jump for Hudson, and our 4x800 ran great to finish second overall and first in our heat,” Bucknell head coach Kevin Donner said. “We had six All-East individuals for the weekend plus the 4x800 relay. Overall, it was a solid weekend. Now we’re off to NCAAs.”

The Bison will send qualified athletes to the NCAA East Preliminary Meet in Tampa on May 24-26.
