LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell’s Christine Bendzinski was voted to the Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 Team on Tuesday, earning a spot on the team for a third consecutive season.

Bendzinski, a cell biology/biochemistry major with a 3.84 GPA, is just the second Bucknell women’s cross country/track and field athlete to earn three Academic All-District honors. She joins Caroline Tolli, who made the team in three consecutive seasons from 2011-13.

Capped by a third appearance in the NCAA East Preliminary Round, Bendzinski recently wrapped up one of the best careers in program history. She was a 14-time Patriot League champion (nine individual, five relay), earned 23 All-Patriot League honors (17 individual, six relay), and graduated with eight program-record times and two Patriot League Championships record times.

Bendzinski was the driving force behind three Patriot League titles in cross country, three titles at the league’s Indoor Championships, and three titles at the Outdoor Championships. She led the team to the Triple Crown – first-place finishes at all three championship events – during the 2016-17 season.

Academically, Bendzinski earned a total of four Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year Awards and nine Academic All-Patriot League honors. She was an eight-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

Bendzinski is now on the ballot for the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team. Tolli was the program’s last Academic All-American, earning a spot on the team in 2013.
