LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell softball brought home a pair of Patriot League weekly awards after going 3-2 at UNCW’s Seahawk Classic over the weekend. Senior Taylor Langtry was named the Pitcher of the Week, while freshman Taylor Wolfgang was tabbed as the Rookie of the Week.

Langtry went 11 innings in the circle without allowing an earned run as she worked for a win and a save in three appearances at UNCW. Making her first career start, Langtry pitched a two-hit shutout in a 3-0 win over Maine and followed that with 2.2 innings of scoreless relief to get the save in a 3-0 win over UNCW.

Langtry’s relief performance against the Seahawks was especially impressive as she entered the game with the bases loaded and two outs in the fifth inning. She ended the threat with a strikeout on a 3-2 pitch.

Wolfgang went 5-for-12 with a double and three RBIs in five games at UNCW. She hit .417 to go with a .500 slugging percentage and a .462 on-base percentage.

The weekly awards were career firsts for both Langtry and Wolfgang. The Bison have taken each of the first two Patriot League Pitcher of the Week awards this season, with sophomore Raeanne Geffert receiving the honor last week.

Five more games await Bucknell when it travels to play in Towson’s Tiger Clash on March 2-4. The Bison will play Quinnipiac twice, St. John’s twice, and Towson once.
