LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The Bison men's golf team is back in action Sunday and Monday at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Lafayette at Silver Creek Country Club. Four Patriot League squads will be in the field, with Colgate and Lehigh joining the Bison and Leopards, along with 14 other teams. Live scoring will be available at GolfStat.com.
Bucknell will send out J.P. Raftery, D.J. Magee, Jubal Early, Connor O'Brien and Nick Geissler. Raftery and Magee both finished T-25th earlier this week at Villanova's Wildcat Invitational. Raftery turned in Bucknell's best round of the tournament with a career-best, 1-under-par 70 in the first round. The Bison shot 298-307 and finished in a tie for ninth place out of 21 teams.
In addition to the four Patriot League fivesomes, the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Invitational will also feature Binghamton, Canisius, Central Connecticut State, Fordham, Hofstra, Iona, La Salle, UMass-Lowell, Manhattan, Monmouth, Niagara, St. Francis Brooklyn, St. Peter's and Villanova.
Sunday's opening round will begin at 1:30 p.m. with a shotgun start. Monday's final round starts at 9 a.m. with split-tee starting times.
Bucknell has fared well at Lafayette's spring tournament in past years. The Bison won the tournament in 2008 and finished runner-up in 2007 and 2010. Bucknell finished sixth out of 14 teams last year and fourth among 18 teams the year before.
Charlie Waddell (2007) and Andrew Cohen (2010) are both Lafayette Invitational individual champions.
