LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The Bucknell men's golf team is back on the road for a pair of single-day tournaments on Saturday and Monday. First the Bison will travel to New Haven, Connecticut for the Yale Spring Invitational, and then they will travel south to Philadelphia for La Salle's Finegan Invitational at Philadelphia Country Club.
Yale's event is a 36-hole shotgun featuring Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth, Central Connecticut, Fairfield, Fordham, Hartford, Sacred Heart, St. John's and Villanova, in addition to the Bison and Bulldogs. The Course at Yale is the host venue.
On Monday, Bucknell will join La Salle, Central Connecticut, Drexel, Iona, Lafayette, Lehigh, Monmouth, Navy, Niagara, Rider, St. Francis Brooklyn, Villanova, and Alvernia at the Finegan Invitational. The teams will tee off at 9 a.m. in a shotgun start to begin a 36-hole day.

Bucknell has posted an average score of 302.9 in 2015-16, including a 309.8 this spring in some very difficult playing conditions. The Bison last played Apr. 3-4 at the Lafayette Invitational, placing 12th out of 19 teams. Connor O'Brien finished T-4th with rounds of 72-77 in cold, windy conditions.
O'Brien's 74.8 scoring average is the best on the team dating back to the start of the fall. The low spring average belongs to Daniel Levin with a 75.5.
After the tournaments at Yale and La Salle, the Bison will be at the Navy Invitational on Apr. 23-24, which will serve as a prep for the Patriot League Tournament back at the USNA Golf Club on Apr. 30 and May 1.
