LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men’s tennis team recently had five players earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status. Additionally, the Bison were tabbed as an ITA All-Academic Team after posting a 3.39 GPA during the 2016-17 academic year.
Junior Timber Erskine, an accounting and financial management major, paced the team with a 3.75 GPA. He was joined as an ITA Scholar-Athlete by juniors Ben Gerber, Max Kane, and Daniel Wright, and sophomore Andrei Vitiuc.
In addition to the five ITA honorees, the Bison recently had eight players named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
All-Academic Team awards are handed out to programs that have a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (4.00 scale) for a given school year. In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a student athlete must be a varsity letter winner, have a GPA of at least 3.50 (4.00 scale) for the current academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters.
