FLUSHING, N.Y. – Despite a tough 4-3 loss to St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday, the Bucknell men’s tennis team had a great experience, as the match was played at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The facility has been host to the US Open since 1978.
Playing with no seniors in the lineup, Bucknell still almost pulled out a victory. The Bison won three singles matches, but the difference came in doubles where St. Francis Brooklyn won two of three matches.
Max McDonald had the top singles win for the Bison, prevailing in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, on court two. Adding singles victories were Max Garramone, 6-4, 7-5, on court four, and Crastes, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 on court six.
St. Francis Brooklyn improved to 4-11, while Bucknell dropped to 5-18.
The Bison will play a league match at Lehigh on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
