BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Bucknell won all three doubles matches, but just two of the six singles matches in a 4-3 loss to Lehigh in Patriot League men’s tennis action Wednesday at Ulrich Courts.
Daniel Wright and Max Garramone had the singles wins for Bucknell, which dropped to 5-19 overall and 2-3 in the Patriot League. Wright defeated Harry Wang in three sets on court one, 6-3, 4-6, 10-6, to improve to 2-0 against league opponents this season.
Garramone beat Bryant Born in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5, on court six. The freshman is 5-7 during the spring season and 12-12 during the spring and fall combined.
Wright had an easier time in his doubles win, teaming with fellow senior Ben Geber for a 6-2 victory on court one.
Erskine and Garramone remained unbeaten against league opponents at 3-0. The Bison have dominated doubles in their five league matches, going 11-2.
“Another great result from Dan and Ralph (Garramone), and our doubles were outstanding,” Bucknell head coach Bruce Myers said. “We just need to figure out why we don’t carry the doubles momentum into our singles play.”
Bucknell is back on the road when it travels to play Navy on Saturday at 11 a.m.
